Attack of Bridezilla!

Andrew is coming over soon, so I need to make this snappy....
The first thing you need to know after the attack of the Bridezilla is that we both survived! Phew! Long story short, I had my first "Bridezilla" moment this week and it was a doozy! So it started on Monday night when we were finishing up our temple invite list and found out that we had 27 people that we wanted to witness our temple marriage. This exceeded our original reservation of 25 and I set Andrew on the task of securing us a larger room on May 1st. So the next day (Wednesday) he called me and told me that we could not get a bigger room because, well, there were already TWO OTHER COUPLES getting married at the EXACT SAME TIME as Andrew and I. I was taken aback, two other couples in the Provo temple at the same time, really? Oh, it got better. I decided to take matters into my own hands and get more info....So I called the temple and it turns out that one of the groups will be 70 PEOPLE LARGE and the other will be 40 PEOPLE LARGE!!! Really, thats NUTS! I then cried hysterically for a few minutes (well maybe more than a few) while my mind was reeling about how many things these other groups of people will effect....pictures, getting ready, parking, waiting room, etc.... In order to hopefully quell my fears I started soliciting advice from my friends in the good ol grad lab and they assured me that it would be okay. I then talked to my best friends and they commiserated with me and let me cry (again), and finally I talked to my sister who assured me that it wouldn't be a big deal.

I will say the best advice I got through the whole ordeal was from Andrew, who gave me the following advice; if anyone gives you any trouble, tell them "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick butt, and I'm all out of gum..." as seen in this clip...

I have no clue what movie that clip is from, but I feel it will help me get through the day (by making me laugh at least!)

Other than that, here's what we've done since the last post....
1. I worked at Target Friday and Saturday. I like the people I work with, that's why I am STILL THERE (going on 9 years- seesh!)
2. It was Rachel's birthday on Wednesday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We celebrated on Friday by going Laser Tagging with a big group of friends- SUPER FUN!
3. Cindy and I had lots of fun last night going to eat at Gingers (after Guru's was WAY too crowded!) watching Whip it and doing wedding hair! Cindy is AMAZING at hair and did a style that is BEAUTIFUL! Wedding hair= done!
4. I went over the wedding budget with my mom, it's in good shape!
5. Andrew went up to Ogden to Wolf Mountain with Clark for snowboard/ski racing! Andrew took 1st in Slalom, Giant (Grand?) Slalom, and Bordercross! He's coming home soon! HOORAY!
6. I made stuffed peppers for dinner, we'll see how this goes. I made brownies for dessert incase the peppers aren't up to snuff. Cindy got Andrew a super yummy-looking cupcake from a new place in town so I think he will be full off of brownies and cupcakes if he isn't a fan of the peppers!

Tomorrow starts a new week (ugh!) Good luck to all my friends (blogging and not)! I hope this week treats you well and that the weekend comes sooner than you think!

Weekend Whirlwind!

I am always suprised/depressed at how fast the weekend flys by but at the same time I am oh so greatful to be getting more weeks of the semester behind me. This weekend was supposed to be filled with working on finishing a literature review that I am supposed to do for a paper I am working on with the professor I work with, Dr. Bahr. I am extremely interested in the project but wedding stuff is too much of an easy distraction.

So here's what I got done this weekend....

I bought two of these puppies, which hopefully will keep out reception nice and toasty after the sun goes down. They are over 7 feet tall (when put together, not boxed) which was some cause for concern but luckily they fit just fine in my little accord. They come sans the margarita, so sorry for those of you who were excited about that...

Andrew figured out how to print out half of the invitations (bless him!) and I got the rest printed out at Kinko's. We stuffed the invitation envelopes with the invitiations, pictures, and put mailing labels on all of them. All we have left to do is print out the resonse cards and put the proper postage on everything and we will be good to go!

Other than that, we had a game night on Saturday with some friends which was a lot of fun. We also tried to have a date night on Friday but the snowstorm that started just as we were leaving proved problematic and we had to cancel. We are going to try to go on a date this week before Andrew goes to his race this weekend to make up for our failed date attempt this past weekend!

Sorry for the pretty lame post, I've got a case of the Monday's....

I love to see the temple....

Tonight Andrew and I had the opportunity to go to the Provo Temple. It was ward temple night and well since we aren't the best at going on our own (something we MUST get better at) we decided to capitalize on this opportunity. We had quite the busy day with Andrew working, doing a fitness test for his FBI application, applying for other jobs and I working at school, trying to get some homework done, and going to the gym.

As usual we overextended ourselves and Andrew literally had to eat his dinner as I drove us to the temple. Luckily we made it in time to participate in the same session with our ward at 7:40 (supposed to be 7:20 but the temple as HOPPIN!) I think the best part of being in the temple was just sitting in the temple and feel the ahhhh! of being there. Plus, it's our wedding temple so it is particularly meaningful to us! Well, it will be our wedding temple...only a little more than three months!

Developments on the wedding front-- the invitations are driving me NUTS! So Andrew is going to take over (Bless him!), so look for it in your mailbox in a few months! I think this week's trip to Michaels will be the last for me. I just can't think of anything else that I need to use those 40% off coupons for. I will say that Michaels did get quite a bit of business thanks to the wedding, but I've been able to easily justify it thinking that I am saving 40% every time I shop! So in a nutshell, all we have left to do is mail out the darned invitations, buy candy for the candy buffet and go have fun! Yet, I still feel stressed, what is with that? Oh well...p.s. BEST WEDDING BOUQUET EVER...found this on ETSY....

...yes, be jealous! It is awesome and made of only felt and buttons!  So that will be there on May 1st.

After the temple we had a little ward get-together (complete with rice krispies! yum!) and Andrew, Mel, and I played some more Super Mario World! We are close to the end, my new issue is what am I now going to do to occupy my time/ procrastinate when that game has been conquered?

I wanna rock and roll all night....

Last night Andrew and I along with my roommates/best friends Rachel, Krystle, Melanie, and Alisha (in spirit) finally were able to play Andrew's Christmas present, Guitar Hero! We have had the band kit for quite some time now but unfortunately left the cords that connect the Wii to the TV and the Wii to the senor bar.

I had it firmly set in my mind that the cords were going to come on Monday (via UPS). Yet on Sunday Andrew kindly reminded me that Monday was a holiday which was good on some accounts (no school) yet not so good on others (does UPS deliver on MLK holiday?) Needless to say, I was ecstatic (maybe that's even understating things) when I found that the cords had come when Rachel and I came back from our morning workout.

So I decided to be a little sneaky and therefore called Andrew's parents and told them the situation and asked if I could grab his Wii stuff so that I could have it all set up when he came over for dinner that night. They kindly obliged so I ran over and picked up the stuff. Meanwhile, I sneakily told Andrew that the cords would hopefully come on Tuesday....BWAHAHAHA

In order for us all to play we still needed more Wiimotes so I ran to target and picked up a brand new black Wiimote that looks pretty spiffy. Krystle and I then did a test run to make sure that everything was connected and to have some fun and luckily it all worked!

Long story short, we rocked out with some friends...played some fun games including Guitar Hero, Mario Kart, and Andrew and I played Super Mario World. It was a fun opportunity to relax before the working week officially started and let loose, and hopefully make us want to... "Party every day!"

The Inaugural Blog! (Commence fanfare music)

Greetings from the Wight House! Well, rather, the future Wight House! I have been contemplating starting a blog for quite a while since I thoroughly enjoy reading those of my friends (yes, I am a bit of a blog stalker). So I thought, what better time than now to start a blog for our upcoming family? Now I also thought that over a month ago when this blog was first created, and yes I am just now getting around to the first post, so we'll just see how long this thing lasts....

Hmmmm...updates, updates. Well yesterday Andrew and I had quite the phenomenal day (if I do say so myself!) We went snowboarding (which wasn't so phenomenal as I can count the number to times I have been snowboarding on one hand meaning I am still quite the newbie) at the Park City resort where Andrew and his best friend Clark have season passes. I tend to like the resort because well, that is how this whole family blog thing got started, as seen below....

Luckily I was able to in a single day go from being a uni-turner to being a fully functioning multi-turner (something that took all five times last season to accomplish). Unfortunately I do not think that either my school or work schedule will allow me to visit that resort many times this season, but oh well at least I have a super cool snowboard/bindings/boots to use whenever I can go, thanks to Andrew!

After snowboarding we both took showers, separate but equal mind you, and then he picked me up for our date! This date thing had been a secret because, well I like to be surprised. So he picked me up, we went to dinner at Pizza Pie cafe (we had a 2 for 1 coupon and we are trying to be frugal, mind you). We both were able to request pizzas of our liking and ate till we were full (stuffed may be a better word choice). After pizza we went and had some major fun at the Nickelcade! Oh and while there we got the scoop for all you that read our blog (which at this time is no one) The Nickelcade is moving south for the winter, and forever I presume, this week. So if you want to visit the Nickelcade before they move you better get a move on!

We were at the Nickelcade for a few hours and then went and rented a redbox. It reminded me of our first date when we just kept doing activity after activity and I didn't want the date to end (something that has NEVER happened before, it's usually an hour or two and I am done with the date). So any who, it was a great night.

Stick a fork in it, the first blog is done!
