We have started to get into a back-to-school routine (I think). Andrew wakes up early and takes off for work and I leave a few hours later. We both arrive home around 3, relax, go on a bike ride, eat dinner, and then work on whatever else needs be done around the house. Generally Andrew is fixing/figuring out things and I'm either reading, working on my syllabus, or trying to motivate myself to work on my thesis. Mind you, I've still not been past the motivational phase. For those of you who don't find a thesis daunting I need input from you how to pass the emotional hurdle that must occur before I begin to pass the physical hurdle of getting this sucker done.
In the meantime I've pretty well nailed out my class for next semester. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about (and there aren't too many of you, I've pretty much told everyone and their dog/s), I'm teaching a class (Sociology 323: Race & Minority Group Relations) next semester and am super excited about it! Hopefully I don't have too many sleepers in my class (meaning I am boring them out of their minds) but instead have thoughtful and useful discussion. Regardless, I am really excited and hopeful about this opportunity.
So what have we been up to during our blogging absence? Quite a lot and not too much all at the same time! We were able to go on one really big trip (honeymoon) and two little ones (Ouray, CO and Yellowstone, WY). We are trying to make it a priority to get out and see things near us as we hope we won't be in the Utah vicinity for too much longer (but that's not all up to us). We've had some milestones-- Andrew's 30th birthday and our 2nd year anniversary (of dating, not marriage, but if you read our blog, you'd know that!). Also, some firsts (Meghan's first demolition derby in Logan, UT, and the FIRST EVER TIME Meghan tied Andrew in minigolf-- I think that was one of my proudest moments this summer, he always creams me!)
Oh, and we finally broke down and signed up for internet, so now we can do all sorts of fun things like blogging (and thesising...ugh)
